Art + Design Walk in Downtown Long Beach with Debby and David Lalonde
How can the quality of life for Long Beach residents and businesses be improved? … Engagement! On February 8, 2025, We participated in the inaugural “What Do You Make in Long Beach?” Parking Day. There were about sixteen other artists/designers/tradespeople that set up creative, interactive areas in the parameters of a parking space. By bringing our favorite room outdoors, we hoped to provide a relaxing atmosphere while also promoting and fostering positive interactions with our community. Our space included two sofas, a coffee table, crates of books, a puzzle, plants, and hot tea. Can you guess our favorite room? We also asked that passersby & visitors would write down on an index card what they loved about Long Beach. Having conversations with people about their community sparked enthusiasm and innovative ideas for making their neighborhood a better place. What do YOU make in Long Beach? Make a difference!
Mark your calendars for our dinner social at Patricia's on the third Tuesday of June at our regular meeting time of 6:00 PM. There may be Bingo as well! We encourage you to bring friends and prospective members to enjoy this social evening.
Let's support our fellow service organization by supporting their upcoming theater night featuring "Fiddler on the Roof" at the Long Beach Playhouse on Thursday, July 31. Tickets are $40 each, with checks payable to Downtown Lions.
