Our biggest celebration of the year took place on June 3rd with our 28th Annual Student Awards Luncheon. This milestone event recognized outstanding middle school students for their citizenship and academic excellence. Secretary Roger Leue, who has helped organize this event for all 28 years alongside Marco Marano, once again delivered an exceptional program. More can be read about that in Shirly Wild’s Press Telegram write-up.
Later in June, we enjoyed our club social at Patricia’s Mexican Restaurant, where we were joined by special guests from the Cal Heights Neighborhood Association board members, strengthening our community partnerships.
July Updates
July brought a more relaxed pace with our sparse monthly meeting, keeping things low-key due to typical summer attendance patterns. However, we received exciting recognition news: President Tony Diaz was presented with the Distinguished Club patch from past Lt. Governor Armando Velazquez at the District Cabinet Meeting on July 9th, acknowledging our club president’s outstanding service and commitment.
Looking Ahead
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 17th, 2025, for our Dodgers Night outing! Armando Velazquez is coordinating this fun event with 200 tickets available at $40 per person. Contact Armando at [email protected] for more information and to secure your spot.
As we continue our mission of supporting youth and community, these past two months have shown the strength of our partnerships and the impact of our dedicated members’ 28 years of service to local students.
