Kiwanis Jewelry Fundraiser 2026 Sparkles with Success

The Kiwanis Club of Bixby Knolls/North Long Beach hosted their inaugural jewelry fundraiser on Saturday, March 14th at a private home on Walnut Avenue in Long Beach. The innovative event featured Park Lane Jewelry with 50% of all proceeds benefiting the club’s Foundation programs.

Alba Swalheim, Chair of the Social Committee, organized and hosted the event at her home, providing guests with brunch snacks and refreshments while they browsed a selection of stylish jewelry pieces. The fundraiser continued through Sunday, March 15th via an online link for those unable to attend in person or who wanted to make additional purchases.

The event drew approximately 18 attendees and raised close to $1,000 for the club’s Foundation programs. Earrings proved especially popular among guests, along with bracelets featuring colorful stones that caught many shoppers’ attention. The intimate brunch setting, complete with mimosas and games, created an enjoyable social atmosphere that lasted about two hours.

Drawing on her experience coordinating the silent auction at the club’s annual Theater Night, Alba is now broadening her leadership role by introducing additional social fundraising events that complement the club’s established programs. The success of this first-time venture has already generated suggestions for future events, including a potential Mother’s Day-themed fundraiser.

The jewelry fundraiser represents a new approach for the club, combining social fellowship with Foundation support in an intimate home setting that allowed for personal connections and community awareness about the club’s charitable work.
