Our sister club, the Long Beach Kiwanis Club, recently hosted an impactful community event that brought together local law enforcement and approximately 750 students at Jefferson Middle School. On November 7th, the “Kids and Cops” program created valuable opportunities for police officers and students to connect through various activities, including friendly basketball games and interactive demonstrations.
Students had the chance to explore police vehicles and learn about specialized units, including forensics equipment, providing them with a firsthand look at law enforcement operations. The Long Beach Kiwanis Club showed their commitment to youth in our community by donating 1,200 backpacks, each filled with a Frisbee, stress reliever, commemorative pin, and notebook.

Through games, demonstrations, and meaningful interactions, the program helped break down barriers and build understanding between police officers and the students they serve.
