Back-to-School Backpack Supply Drive 2026

The Kiwanis Club of Bixby Knolls came together once again on Saturday, July 25th for one of our favorite annual traditions — stuffing backpacks with school supplies for students in need. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Orozco’s Auto Service, we had 100 brand-new backpacks ready and waiting when volunteers arrived at 9 AM on Atlantic Avenue.

This year’s drive drew some wonderful community energy, including a special guest: Tara Riggi, President of the Cal Heights Neighborhood Association, who rolled up her sleeves and joined right in. Her presence was a great reminder that this kind of work resonates well beyond our club’s membership.

Volunteers worked together to sort and pack supplies, including markers, colored pencils, index cards, rulers, and packs of lined paper — everything a student needs to walk into the first day of school feeling prepared and ready to learn.

By the time the morning wrapped up, all 100 backpacks had been filled and were ready for distribution to local students who need them most. The teamwork, laughter, and shared sense of purpose on display was, as always, the very best of what Kiwanis looks like in action.
